  1.                                THE  GRADE  CALCULATOR

  3.                As a teacher facing large classes I have been forced to give
  4.  
  5.           multiple choice  examinations.  While we all know the limitations
  6.  
  7.           of this  type of  examination, one  of their  difficulties is the
  8.  
  9.           need to  calculate the  individual weightings,  scores,  of  each
  10.  
  11.           individual question and what the corresponding grade will be.
  12.  
  13.                Well, fret  no more!   The  Grade Calculator will solve this
  14.  
  15.           issue.   You can either print the calculations on your printer or
  16.  
  17.           report them to the monitor.
  18.  
  19.                The  Grade  Calculator  needs  to  know  several  pieces  of
  20.  
  21.           information.  In addition to the name of the examination, it asks
  22.  
  23.           how many  points the examination is worth, which normally will be
  24.  
  25.           100 points,  but this could vary.  It also needs to know how many
  26.  
  27.           questions are  on the  examination  in  order  to  calculate  the
  28.  
  29.           relative worth  of each  question.   Another question  is "Do You
  30.  
  31.           Want to  Round Your  Results?"   If you  do want  to  round  your
  32.  
  33.           answers, a  cautionary message will appear stating that this will
  34.  
  35.           introduce rounding errors which could be serious.
  36.  
  37.                In addition to all of this information, the calculator wants
  38.  
  39.           to know  how many  grades you  want  to  calculate.    This  will
  40.  
  41.           instruct the  program  as  to  how  many  grade  combinations  in
  42.  
  43.           ascending order it should report.
  44.  
  45.                Finally, the  user is  asked whether  or not  to  print  the
  46.  
  47.           results.   If you  answer  affirmatively,  the  results  will  be
  48.  
  49.           printed on the printer after asking whether or not the printer is
  50.  
  51.           actually turned on and ready.  Otherwise, the results will simply
  52.  
  53.           appear on the screen.

  55.                I hope  you find  this little program to be useful.  I would
  56.  
  57.           like to  remind you  that this  is shareware,  and that  I  am  a
  58.  
  59.           teacher like  you who  needs some  incentive to  keep this  stuff
  60.  
  61.           coming.   If you find The Grade Calculator worthwhile and use it,
